LEADERSHIP & VOTING
No Vote, No Voice At QCC, we believe Leadership Development and Civic Engagement are the foundation for community change. Our Voter Education, Registration & Mobilization and Explorations in Community Leadership programs are making a difference here in Charlottesville. We are pleased to serve as fiscal sponsor for Inspiring America, an organization working to create a bold, shared vision for leadership nationwide. | Voter Education, Registration QCC has partnered with PHAR, VOP, and the League of Women Voters to publish voter guides. Other education events have included Voting Machine Demonstrations, and educational forums with Delegates Mitch Van Yahres, David Toscano, and Dr. Ronald Walters, author of Freedom is Not Enough. Our door-to-door voter registraton efforts have helped to dramatically increase the number of registered voters in our target neighborhoods. | | | | | | & Mobilization Aside from registering and educating voters, QCC helps get them to the polls on Election Day. On November 7, 2007, we provided rides to the polls for voters from our Venable, Ridge Street, Fifeville, Prospect, and Jackson-Via neighborhoods. | |
